I am in dire need of help, this was the only way I thought might help, I do have a full-time job, and am going to school to get my BSN...Currently going through a custody battle with the estranged father of my son, after 8 years he wants to just show up and decrease monthly child support payment that he only gave 4 payments on back in 2018 because he couldn't afford to pay and now says he has a right to have our son spend time with him because he pays child support 😒 he then proceeds to tell our son about the case, the hearings and temporary order, and instilled fear on him by saying I'll be taken away, all while yelling and intimidating him so our son no longer wants to even talk with him. Surprisingly he has an attorney helping him with the case, and that makes me look bad because I don't. I tried at first but got ripped of $5,700 for representation on 1 hearing and then she said her job was done because temporary orders were given. If I wanted her to file initial disclosures, petitions or modifications or have her represent me again I had to pay another $5,700. I can't afford that, we had just moved out from my mom's house, got a mortgage, a car we could depend on and I don't even have a year at my current job but we don't qualify for government help so job money is really all accounted for. I'm desperate for help because I don't want to lose my son to him or expose him to any kind of danger, but him and his lawyer make it seem like I've been denying our son to him and even verbally abusing him. Which is not true, he just never did it himself. He lives 8 hrs away from us and I was the only to always pay for our son to go see him and bring him back, until I said "enough" it not our responsibility to make sure you have a relationship with our son. If you don't call, pick him up ,message him or even pay child support, we're not going to bother to chase after you.
So please let me know how I can make this ATW work out for me, I am here to do my best to get funds needed.
